New Year! New Blog!  NEW POEM!

...but that doesn't mean we need to take ourselves too seriously!  I wrote this yesterday while freaking out about my teeth.  Happy New Year!

Old Crone

Despairing
long in the tooth
I have become now
an old woman
researching gum disease
vitamin deficiencies
tapping the labels
of my food and pills
alone in my little cottage
alone with my little cat
she, in her dotage,
lost two big fangs
while her old crone’s teeth
grow long and sharp
I am all fangs
all pointy problems
I smile grandly
from my rotting stoop
beckoning the boys
“Come by, my pretties,
come close, and taste
my bite.”

I write and perform poetry.  I have been published on many websites and print publications at various times throughout my life. I live in NYC where I also create as an actor. Acting makes me forget that I'm a poet for long stretches of time.  But I mean to work on that here: I'll be posting old poems, new poems, and everything in between. Thanks for visiting.  Enjoy!
